Zakayev ready to cooperate with Kadyrov

Publication time: 24 July 2009, 21:42

Akhmed Zakayev, residing in London since 2002, said this in an interview with the BBC. He has also said that in the near future he would hold one more meeting with representatives of pro-Moscow puppet regime in Chechnya.

News agencies reported that two-day-long talks of Zakayev with Kadyrov's speaker of "parliament" Dukvakha Abdurakhmanov came to the end on Friday in Oslo.

We would like to remind that earlier one of Zakayev's trustees Ivar Amundsen, a director of the "Chechnya Peace Forum", and also known as a dealer of vodka brand "Absolut", said that Zakayev met Abdurakhmanov in Oslo on July 2.

Meanwhile, Zakayev, commenting on the negotiations with Kadyrov's emissary in an interview with the BBC, said that he welcomes "all good beginnings aimed at stability, security, respect for rights, law both in Russia and in Chechnya".

According to the BBC, Zakayev admitted that he is ready to cooperate with the puppet regime of Kadyrov:

"I am not in politics for the first time. Maybe even unfortunately. Not reckoning with the reality that exists, is not just politically illiterate, it is bad for everything and for everyone".

"I think with the realities that exist. Recognizing we each other or do not recognizing, the essence of it does not change. Today, Ramzan Kadyrov, whom Russia appointed a president and entrusted leadership in the country and there is a huge country behind him", Zakayev added.

According to Kadyrov's press secretary Alvi Karimov, the Kremlin is clearly aware of such negotiations.

According to Zakayev, "the sides have agreed that next round of talks would be held in London in the next 10 days".

"I and Dukvakha - we represent people who will make decisions", Zakaev has explained necessity to make a break in negotiations.

In turn, the press secretary of Kadyrov Alvi Kerimov told reporters that Zakayev "will find his place in the Chechen Republic, we are assured".

"Neither yesterday, nor the day before yesterday during our meeting with Abdurakhmanov and even in the previous meeting, when we met with him, we did not discuss issue of my return or job for me", Zakayev said answering to a question about the possibility of returning to Chechnya.

In his words, issues, which he discussed with Abdurakhmanov, not need to be "personalized".

We would like to remind that after declaration of the Caucasus Emirate in autumn of 2007, the Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of CRI of that time Akhmed Zakayev announced his insubordination to Emir Dokka Umarov, urged Mujahideen to revolt against the leadership of the Caucasus Emirate and declared himself a "prime minister of Ichkeria in exile".

The scandalous "appointment", as Zakayev himself explained, had took place by a method of telephone voting by 5 former members of parliament of CRI, living on the rights of refugees in Europe, for which a label of "the telephone government" assigned to Zakayev's grouping.

Later in the London grouping Zakaeva there was a split. The majority of members of the "telephone government" had defected to Kadyrov, including its nearest handy Jaragi Abdulaev. In "government" there was Zakaev and it «the honourable consul» Ivar Amundsen.

Later split occurred in London's grouping of Zakayev. Most of members of "telephone government" had defected to Kadyrov, including his closest handy Yaragi Abdullayev. Zakayev himself and his "honorary consul" Ivar Amundsen left in the "government".
